Splitcoast's Technique Lover's Challenge #314

Hello everyone...it's time for another TLC challenge on Splitcoast!! My challenge to you is to make tickets!! No store bought tickets allowed....you can use dies, punches, stamps, what ever you want to create some fun tickets!!! I paper pieced the adorable little dog from Paper Smooches Birthday buddies set and colored a bit of shading with a copic. The tickets were used for the sentiment and the button with twine finishes it off.
Supplies includes: Stamps, cardstock, punches, and a marker.

Punch the corners of a 2 1/8" x 1 1/8" piece of cardstock using a ticket corner punch.

If you don't have the ticket corner punch, you can use a round punch...

Insert the corner of the cardstock in partially....just make sure you insert the paper at the same spot on all 4 sides so all the corners will be even.

You can even use a larger circle punch...the curves won't be as deep but that's ok...use what you have!!!

Now, you can decorate the tickets. I doodles a line around the edges with a marker and sponged the edges with Chocolate Chip.

Recipe:

Stamps: Paper Smooches Birthday Buddies

Paper: White, Kraft, Basic Grey Max and Whiskers dp

Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa, Chocolate Chip

Accessories: Copics, Button, Baker's Twine, Sewing Machine, Ticket Punches, Nestabilities

I hope you will join us for today's TLC challenge and have a great day!!!!

Flower Power

Good morning everyone!!! It's a beautiful Saturday morning and I'm going outside to play in the dirt!! I could stay in the house and sweep floors, wash clothes, and dust but I think I'll pass and hope my fairy Godmother will clean while I'm outside....well, a girl can dream can't she??? I had some time last night to do a little fun stamping....this last week was full of hops and other DT obligations so it was really fun to play *just cause*!!!!
I made this card for the Moxie Fab World's Tuesday Trigger - Flower Power. My colors don't match perfectly but I think you can see the resemblance to the trigger pillow. I used the flower stamp from Stampin Up's Fifth Ave Floral and the leaves are from Studio 490's Ticket to Art set. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink's Birthday basics set and the papers included Pacific Point, Kiwi Kiss, Really Rust, amd Perfect Plum.
Thanks for visiting today and I hope you get to do something fun this weekend!!!!!

Layers of Color Cake Decorationg Party!!

Welcome
to the

Layers of Color

Cake Decorating Party!
We have a line-up of fantastic crafting chefs who will inspire you to get into your creative kitchens and whip up some delicious artwork! Our party hostess is Gunn Thelin Knutsen who is generously sharing her cake template with us today! Come whet your appetite with her creative paper cake slice boxes that are marvelously decorated with Layers of Color.

This is truly how you can have your cake and eat it too! Enjoy a tasty cake fresh from the oven,
while being creative with Layers of Color, pretty papers, laces, flowers, and even jewelry!
The cake slices were made with Prism Papaya Puree Light cardstock. One of the flower images from LOC's Merci Bouquet set was stamped with Versamark onto the Papaya Puree paper, embossed with clear ep, cutout, and attached to each side of the cake slice. A gold pearl was added to the flower centers. Lace was adhered to the top edge, gold pearls were added along with pearl and rhinestone flourishes. The flowers on top were created using LOC's Flowering Gems set...the flowers were stamped on the K&Co. Life's a Journey dp, cutout, distressed a little, layered with dimensionals, and the edges were covered with Diamond Stickles. Gold pearls were added to the centers. The leaves from the same set were stamped on Graphic 45 Once Upon a Springtime dp, cutout, edged with Diamond Stickles, and attached to the under sides of the flowers.

The birds from LOC's Birdday Party set were also stamped on the Graphic 45 paper and attached to the copper wires that were curled around a pencil. The wire was wrapped around the seam binding bows and gold cording before they were adhered to the cake slice so they looked like they were floating.

The cupcake card was made with the free cupcake template Laura is giving away for the party!! The base paper was run through a crimper so it would look like a cupcake liner. The small flower stamp from LOC's Merci Bouquet set was stamped and embossed on the *frosting* and the sentiment and birds are from LOC's Birdday Party set.

TLC Tutorial - Bargello Design

Hello everyone...hope you had a great weekend!!! It looks like spring around here with flowers blooming and the grass starting to turn green....it's time to pull out all those pretty spring colors and stamps!!! Anyway...I am hosting Splitcoast's Technique Lover's Challenge tonight and the challenge is to create a bargello design for your card or layout!!!

1. Cut several strips of patterned paper 3/4 inch wide and about 8-10 inches long. I used Graphic 45's Once Upon a Springtime dp for my first card and scraps of different papers for my second card.
2. Using glue or double sided tape, arrange the strips of dp with sides touching and the edges even on a piece of computer paper or thin cardstock. I made a consistant pattern but you can mix the colors any way you want.
3. Cut 3/4 inch strips cutting through all the strips to form a strip with small squares of dp. You can cut these strips in various sizes to add a little interest.
4. Now, play with the strips until you are happy with your design. You can arrange them in a zig zag design, a wave, or a pyramid design.

5. Using double sided tape or glue, adhere the strips to another sheet of computer paper or cardstock.
6. You can trim the bargello pattern along the squares, cut a layer out with a Nestabilities, cut a square to cover the background, make a wave pattern across the middle of the card...what ever you like!!!

I cut my bargello pattern along the squares and added a scallop along the bottom. Studio 49's Ticket to Art was used to stamp the leaves and the sentiment was from Verve. The Prima and gold cording finish it off.
Recipe:
Stamps: Studio 49's Ticket to Art, Verve sentiment
Paper: Vanilla, Prism Frosted Orange, Graphic 45's Once Upon a Springtime dp
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories: Nestabilities, Prima, Gold Cording, Spellbinders Scalloped Edge Die
This was the first bargello card I made using scraps of dp. It was cut into a square and sewing was done around the edges and along the up and down seams. The sentiment is from Rubbernecker and wrinkled seam binding, button, and twine are the finishing details.
Recipe:
Stamps: Rubbernecker
Paper: White, Real Red, scraps of various pattern papers
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories: Sewing Machine, Wrinkled Seam Binding, Button, Twine

Thanks for dropping in today...hope you can join us for the TLC challenge on Splitcoast!!!

Happy Birdday!!

Good Friday morning everyone....hope you are having a great day so far!!! The weather here has been beautiful the last few days. I think I'll work outside a little today to get my flower beds ready for some spring flowers....the neighbors have daffodils blooming already!!! Anyway...
I had this fun little wooded birdcage and wanted to use it with the Bo Bunny Crush paper because the paper had the cutest little black birdcages all over it. The wood birdcage was colored with a black marker and the birds from Layers of Color's Birdday Party set were added. The sentiment from the same set was layered on real red and the wrinkled seam binding, button, and twine finished it off.

This is for a few challenges:
1. ABC Challenge - old-fashioned or vintage look
2. Stampin Royalty - use markers
3. Tuesday Throwdown - buttons
4. Terrifically Thrilling Thursday Challenge - Show Us what You Got!

Thanks for dropping by this morning.....hope your day is fabulous!!!!

Make Up Tuesday

Good morning everyone....I have a few cards that I made this last weekend that I haven't had a chance to upload. It seems that the weekend just flew by...we had to spend most of Saturday at a funeral and Sunday was spent getting Valentines ready to deliver today. I have to work tomorrow and will spend all day Wednesday at a conference....yikes...I thought I was retired...LOL!!! Anyway.....enough whining....
I made this wedding card for Saturday's Inspiration challenge on Splitcoast. The site Stef picked out was called Santa Barbara Chic...it specializes in design and wedding inspiration.
I took my inspiration from these beautiful pink ruffled shoes. The Layers of Color Touch of Elegance damask set was used to create the background, the sentiment was from LOC's Sent With Love, and the flowers were LOC's Floweret. All the images were stamped with Fresh Snow onto Pink Pirouette and embossed with white ep. Lace, a pearl flourish, Prima Flower, and gold cording finished it off.
Recipe:
Stamps: Layers of Color Art Stamps Sent with Love, Floweret, Touch of Elegance
Paper: Pink Pirouette
Ink: PTI's Fresh Snow
Accessories: Prima Flower with brad, Lace, Gold cording, White ep, Nestabilities

I made this card for Sunday's Featured Stamper Challenge on Splitcoast to honor Charlene (Willow01). I took my inspiration from Charlene's Happy Birthday Bird card....I kept the polka dots and altered the layout just a little, changed the stamps to Kim Hughes' Paper Smooches Falling For You set, and changed the theme to a Valentine. The little monster was stamped on the My Minds Eye Bloom & Grow "Grow" Lots of Dots dp and the same paper was used for the scallop layers. The ribbon and tiny sparkly heart finish it off
Recipe:
Stamps: Paper Smooches Falling for You
Paper: Kraft, My Minds Eye dp
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories: Ribbon, Heart Sticker, EK success Scallop Border Punch

This is another card I made for the Featured Stamper Challenge on Splitcoast. Charlene's gallery was so wonderful I just had to case another card!!! I cased her You are Simply the Best card...I kept the same basic layout but changed the stamps to Rubbernecker's Stamp Oasis Special Delivery and sentiment stamp. I also changed the colors and theme to a Valentine. The cute little boy was colored with copics and paper pieced with stampin Up dp....the heart was hand cut. Thanks to Charlene's gallery, I finished my little boy Valentines and they were all delivered yesterday...Whoohoo!!!
Recipe:
Stamps: Rubbernecker Stamp Oasis Little Lovins Special Delivery and RN sentiment
Paper: Whisper White, Chocolate Chip, Stampin up! dp
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories: Ribbon, Copics, Top Note
Thanks for stopping by today....I hope you have a great day!!!!!

Splitcoast's TLC312 Challenge

Hello everyone....it's my turn to host the Technique Lover's Challenge on Splitcoast. Sue (bensarmom) sent me a PM suggesting this super fun challenge...a Shadow Box card!!! Here is the link to the video on Karen's blog Stamping Videos.
You really need to watch the video to get the folds just right...I thought this was going to be difficult but I was shocked at how easy it was!!!
Supplies includes an 8 1/2 x 11 inch sheet of two sided designer paper, a strip of designer paper for the belly band, a bone folder, and what ever decorations you want on the front and the inside. Now, go to the video for the directions!!
You might want to use a piece of computer paper for the first one so you don't mess up a piece of dp...I used a piece of dp that was too heavy and the folds didn't work.
I used Stampin Up! dp and stickers from K&Co.....this was just tooo much fun!!!!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you join us for this awesome challenge!!!

It's a CAS Friday!!!

Hello everyone....it is going to be a rather cool morning here in Central Texas...around 14 degrees at 6AM...yikes!!! Can you believe it's supposed to be in the 60's by Saturday...this crazy Texas weather keeps us on out toes!!! Anyway...I started addressing my Grands Valentines tonight and realized I didn't have anything boyish for Ryan and Cole so I whipped out some Valentine stamps and went to work!! The cactus stamp is from a set called Wanted by Our Craft Lounge and the little pup is a Great Impressions stamp. The dp is from Bo Bunny's Crush collection and the little heart is a K&Co. sticker.....both are pretty simple and boyish enough for 10 and 7 year old boys!!
I made this birthday card set today for the Ways to Use it challenge on Splitcoast. I will give this set to a friend for her birthday which is at the end of the month. Hopefully, I will have time to make a little box to put them in this weekend. I used stamps from Rubbernecker's Birthday Borders set and colored them with copics. They are very CAS.....I may tie a ribbon around the bottom or emboss a border around the images just because they look naked to me...LOL!!!
I'm off to bed early because I have to work tomorrow....I now work one day a week simply because I don't know how to say no...sigh....
Thanks for visiting and I hope you have a safe and warm Friday!!!
