Spring Flowers

Hello everyone!!!  What strange weather we are having around here...it's in the 40's at night and then warms up to the 70s-80s  in the afternoon. I wish it would make up it's mind....is it winter or is it spring?? Only the Shadow knows...LOL!!!

I had a real fun few days last week....bowel prep last Thursday and a colonoscopy on Friday!!! It was so much fun that I think I'll do it again in 10 years!!! I don't know what is worse...a colonoscopy or a mammogram. I think it's a toss up...LOL!!!  Anyway...

I'm in the mood for spring so I pulled out some Taylored Expressions dies and stamps and went to work. The Baker's Dozen DT was challenged to make a card without patterned paper...here is my take on the challenge.

The flowers were cut with the Silhouette Stems 1 dies...Lollipop, Strawberry Milkshake, and Candy Corn card stock were used along with additional cuts of the leaves to fill up the space. The background was created with the Lattice Cutting Plate and the butterfly was cut with one of the  In Flight Overlays dies.  The Sentiment from the Wispy Wishes stamp set was stamped on the Band It 2 diecut and a sprinkles flower shape was added as the finishing touch.

Thanks for popping in today....have a good one!!!

Color Throwdown Challenge #327

Hello everyone!! Hope you had a good week!!! We had a few cold, rainy days but it was in the 80's here yesterday!! It's time for me to get outside and clean out a few flower beds and plant a some pansies....maybe I better take down my Christmas tree first. I'm just a little late with that project but I can see a light at the end of the tunnel!!! Anyway....

It's Wednesday and time for this weeks Color Throwdown Challenge!!  Wanda is our hostess and she has picked such a rich color pallette...purple, turquoise, lime green, and yellow. I can't wait to see what you do with these colors!!

I pulled out my new Reverse Confetti stamp set and dies for today's card.  The sentiment is from the In a Big Way set and the flowers were cut with the
Petals 'n Posies Confetti Cuts. The scallop was cut with the Double Edge Scallop Border and the enamel dots finish it off.

Remember, you don't have to use the exact colors.....use what you have as long as they are close to the challenge colors and be sure to add CTD327 to the keywords section when you upload your cards to an online gallery so we can find your creations!!

You will find all the challenge details on the Color Throwdown Blog.

Hello everyone!! It has been raining for the last two days....the ponds are full and the creek is rising....it's time to stop raining or get in the Ark...LOL!!! Rainy days really get me in the mood to play in the craft room!!! I went to the Taylored Expressions boards on Pinterest to find a little inspiration for my card today.  An awesome card by Taylor gave me the inspiration I was looking for....pretty colors and a random pattern!!

This is Taylor's card.....don't you just love all the bright, happy colors!!!

handmade card: Rainbow Chevron by Taylor VanBruggen ... uses chevron cutting plate with thick and thin chevrons ... luv the bright colors arranged diagonally down the card in rainbow color order... great card!! ... Taylored Expressions ...

Color Throwdown Challenge #326

Hello everyone!! It's Wednesday again and you know what that means...it's time for this weeks Color Throwdown Challenge!!! Vickie is our hostess and don't you just love the pretty springy colors she picked!!!! I think we all are wishing for an early spring...the only bad thing about spring around here is the Ceder. The trees spew out their pollen and that makes us all sneeze, cough and sputter!!! Thank goodness for antihistamines...LOL!!! Anyway....

This weeks colors are bright pink, light pink, blue, and green.

I went with the softer side of the colors...the sweet little birds from the WPlus9 Love Birds set were stamped with Soft Sky and Pool Party for the shading. Pear Pizzazz and Pretty in Pink were used on the branch and soft clouds were sponged in the background with Soft Sky. The patterned paper is called Garden Party from Pebbles.......sewing was done along the edges and the banners were hand cut.

The sentiment is from the same set and the Baker's Twine and pearls for the eyes finish it off.

Remember, you don't have to use the exact colors.....use what you have as long as they are close to the challenge colors and be sure to add CTD326 to the keywords section when you upload your cards to an online gallery so we can find your creations!!
